The Story Behind Our Joint Exhibition
Mark your calendars: from October 17 to 22, I will be hosting a joint exhibition with my friend and photographer, Natalia, at Vällingby Folkets Hus.
This show is very special to both of us. It brings together painting and photography, but more than that, the artwork on the walls reflects our personal journeys, our creative connection, and how our friendship grew over the years.
How It All Started
Our story began about four years ago. Both of us were relatively new to Sweden, having moved here just a year earlier. Natalia was building her photography business and reaching out to people for portrait sessions. She connected with my close friend, who then introduced her to me.
I booked a family photoshoot with my daughter, and the moment I saw the final pictures, I was hooked. I loved her visual style, her eye for light, and how comfortable she made us feel. I knew right away that it wouldn’t be our last project together.
Two years later, after my son was born, my lovely friends gave me the best gift: another photo shoot with Natalia. Once again, the photos turned out wonderful. So when I began establishing my own brand as a professional painter, there was only one person I trusted to capture my brand photos: Natalia. Naturally, she delivered exactly what I envisioned.
From Clients to Creative Partners
Ever since that first session, we stayed in close contact. We realized early on how much we have in common: we are both expat mothers from Poland, building new lives in Sweden, and above all, we share a deep passion for creating. As two artistic souls, we just get each other.
One day, an idea hit me: why not bring our two worlds together?
I suggested to Natalia that we collaborate on an exhibition to show what happens when two artists support each other and combine different mediums. Collaboration feeds creativity, and this show is proof of that.
