I am thrilled to announce that in just a few days, I will be opening my solo exhibition at the library! I’m quite excited to share my work with you. If you’re planning a visit, here is a preview of what you can expect to see.
Her Alter Ego
The first collection I’ll be showcasing is titled “Her Alter Ego.” This project is based on interviews I conducted with real women regarding their hidden identities, personified as animals.
I asked each woman one central question: “If you could choose to become one animal, which one would it be?” Their answers were so profound and inspiring that I decided to pair each painting with a short poem. These poems share the amazing stories behind the art, allowing you to read about the “alter egos” as you view the pieces.
Curious about the origins? If you want to know more about how this collection started, you can read the full backstory in [this blog post].
The Language of Flowers
The second part of the exhibition focuses on the natural world through a series called “The Language of Flowers.” This collection consists of six paintings, each representing a different flower.
I believe that every flower possesses its own language and a unique message for the world. I carefully selected these specific blooms so that their symbolic meanings could convey a deeper message to the viewer. Each painting includes a description—I encourage you to take a moment to read them and see which message speaks to you most!
Get Creative: Exclusive Coloring Pages
Beyond the journey through colors and literature, I’ve prepared something interactive! I have created special coloring pages based on the original sketches of my paintings.
These aren’t just any coloring pages; they are the actual outlines of my work, ready for you to fill in with your own palette. It’s a fantastic activity for children, but also for adults who want to practice their skills or simply enjoy the meditative process of coloring.
Visit Hässelby Villastads Bibliotek
Last but not least, the Hässelby Villastads Bibliotek is a lovely place to spend quality time. The library offers a wide range of books and magazines in various languages.
The library is conveniently located in a local shopping center surrounded by cafes and restaurants—the perfect spot to grab a fika or lunch after viewing the art.
Welcome! I look forward to seeing you there.
